Left to Right: Speech Contest Winner Paolina Rose, Angela Richards, 2nd Place Justine Arnberg, Elizabeth Enke, and Youth Chair Jeanne Puleo

We had four amazing contestants in our speech contest last week. Jeanne Puleo did a wonderful job of organizing our event.  A special thank you to Darleen Won Golder, Mike Dobbins, Nicole Van Vacas Gagnon, Natalie Hannah and Mark Flemming  for Judging. Gene Vander Plaats and Mike Green served as Timers and Barbara Ross and Rick Nolle served as Tellers who tallied the results. Each participant prepared a presentation on “What Rotary Serving Humanity” means to them personally. Our Area Speech Contest will be held at the Grass Valley United Methodist Church on April 4th at 11:30 am and serves as a replacement for our regular Penn Valley meeting.  Please turn out to support our talented youth. You won’t be disappointed.

The Area Music Contest is scheduled for 1 pm, Saturday April 22nd at Lyman Gilmore multi-purpose room in Grass Valley. I can assure you that you will be amazed and thrilled to hear our youth perform.

Natalie Hannah presented our See's Candy Sales fundraiser to help support the activities we are doing in the community. Each member is asked to sell as much candy as possible on the form provided. These forms must be turned in to Natalie by April 4th.  Any cash donation to the Penn Valley Rotary Foundation will also go directly to support our community activities.

Volunteers, don’t forget Williams Ranch Science Night March 29th, 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Our program speaker for March 28th will be Mike Mastrodonato, President of the Penn Valley Area Chamber of Commerce. Come find out what is booming in our dynamic business community.
