From Co-President Karen
DG John Sullivan made his visit to our Club Tuesday. Our Club inducted two new members: John Edmonds and Natalie Hannah, recognized Mike Dobbins with his PHS+2 in memory of his father, William Dobbins, and awarded Jeanne Puleo with the Quiet Rotarian Award. DG John left another award to be handed out when our special member returns from a trip.

The Quiet Rotarian Award went to Jeanne Puleo!
Mike Dobbins has accepted the nomination to be our president-elect for 2017-2018 and Mark Fleming has accepted the position of vice-president-elect. We had our DGE Doug McDonald pin Mike with his president elect pin. Congratulations!
DG John spoke to us about Rotary’s place in the world helping people near and far. He expressed the need for each of us to bring friends into our Rotary club to join in the effort to help make our community a better place. DG John reminded us of the opportunity to attend the upcoming seminar on Youth Services (Incline Village, Nov 18) and enjoy gathering with other Rotary members at the District Conference (Reno, May 18-21).

Our club has decided to be a sponsor for the Holiday Lights in the Park, being held on December 9 and 10. A Giving Trail fund has been set up for donations. You can access the fund at:
As of today, we are at 90% of our goal. You can also donate at our club meeting during the month. Any funds over our goal of $500 will be used for our food drive during the month of December. Many thanks to Nicole Van Vacas Gagnon for bringing this opportunity to our attention. Now, let’s get our creative minds thinking and design an outstanding Holiday lights display.
Please note on your calendar that our club will be dark on November 8th as many of our members will be working the election prescient that day. Don’t forget to get out and vote.
