Last week, Bob Kline reported of the plans for the bike park at Western Gateway Park. He will keep us posted on the club's involvement in the bike park to complete our district grant by March 31st.
Grass Valley Rotary’s Casino Night will take place at the Event Center in Grass Valley at 6:30 pm on Feb. 6th. See Eric Trygg for tickets, only $20.00 each.
Dan Halloran will be overseeing our project to work one of the the voting precincts in Penn Valley on June 7th. There is a 2 hour training required for those wanting to participate. We can make $500 for the club if 5 or more participate. The more members that participate, the smaller the shifts, so let’s jump in and help. See Dan if you are interested.
Karen McDonald has offered to spearhead this year's Fall Festival. She will meet with Debbi Corbettto start making plans. By starting to organize the fundraiser now, we can make this a huge success. Karen will need help from many members, so please ask her how you can be involved.
Ken Holbrook, born and raised in Nevada City, gave a wonderful historical program last week on the installation of our 4 miles of freeway between Grass Valley and Nevada City. I have read many books on our history beginning in the mid 1800s to date. Fascinating reading, I can’t seem to get enough.
Remember to make this week's meeting in support of our high school musicians -- it's the annual High School Music Contest. Our winner will go on to compete at the Area level with winners from our other local clubs, and from there can go on to compete at the District level. Should be a fun day!
