Dear Rotarians:

Nice to be back after a 2 week break. Hopefully we all gave thanks to our veterans on Memorial Day weekend for keeping our country safe.

And thanks to our volunteers who worked at the Lake Wildwood polling place on election day. Dan Halloran and Joe Novak worked  a very long day, supplemented by several club members who worked shifts, including Gene vander Plaats, Dave Walker, Michael Green, Karen McDonald, Bob Kline, and Doug McDonald. If we missed mentioning anyone, it's the Editor's fault!

Barbara Ross with help from Greg Marshall and a few others put on a very successful Drew Reynolds Memorial Baseball Tournament, a 2 day event that netted the club over $4,000 dollars. Nice fundraiser to end the year. For their efforts, Barbara and Greg were awarded Rotarians of the Month for May.

Our annual Rivercats trip will be Friday evening, August 19th. Again all 5 clubs in the Area will be involved. Please consider signing up for this fun social. Cost will be determined as we get closer. Should figure about $40. It has been suggested that $5 per ticket go to Polio Plus. Great idea.

Mike Heauser’s daughter Colleen will be entertaining this Sunday, June 19th (Father’s Day) at Naggier Winery from 1-4 pm. Try to get there if possible. Jan  and I will be there.

Don’t forget the Demotion Dinner at WGP on June 27th at 5:30 pm. Cost for dinner will be $35. I am very excited about this day, as you can imagine. Be there.

Doug McDonald gave a wonderful program last week. It was a new member orientation and included definitions of Rotary as well as costs involved and an update on recently approved changes to Rotary bylaws. He provided hand-outs explaining all aspects. Very impressive. Thanks, Doug.

Our final program for the year will be Wyn and Steve Spiller speaking of their experience at the Rotary International Convention in Korea.

See you Tuesday and Happy Father’s Day!
