Since our last meeting on Dec 13, where Marcia Salter was our guest speaker, we have had several successful activities.
Our food baskets for local families went well - Anna Dillavou, Debbi Corbett and Nicole Van Vacas Gagnon divided the responsibilities and ran a successful service activity to support those families with their nutritional needs over the holiday school break. Thanks for a job well done! There were many helpers: Natalie Hannah, Greg Marshall, Darleen Won-Golder, Pat Swope, Dave Walker, Jeanne Puleo, Karen and Doug McDonald.
We had members at the Holiday Market working to get Holiday WOW Points for next years food baskets and ringing the bell for Salvation Army. Thank you to Barbara Ross, Darleen Won-Golder, Debbi Corbett, Dave Walker, Jeanne Puleo, Peter Nazarkewich, and Karen and Doug McDonald. We had our scholarship student Travis Perry helping too.
Ten members were on hand to welcome the newest addition at Players - the sports bar! It was a great opening, lots of friends and fun.
Mark Flemming chaired a wonderful holiday party at Betty Cook's home, with many wonderful tasting foods from our club members and guests. It was great to see Betty Cook and Kay Beeman.
Hopefully I have not missed any Rotarian workers. If I did, please let me know so that you can receive recognition for your work.
If anyone has an interest in taking on committee work, Mike Dobbins will be starting to fill out the club board soon. As many of you know, Doug and I will need to lessen our work with the club due to Doug's duties as District Governor. Please consider stepping up, helping out and getting your voice heard. Many hands make light work, there is some great training coming up to help you with your duties.
