Looks like our District grant monies towards the new Bike Park at Western Gateway Park are going to be put to work. We will be meeting at the dog park area on Saturday, March 19th at 8:00am with chain saws, loppers, etc. to clear the proposed area for the new bike park. There are no berries involved as previously expected, but long sleeved shirts and gloves are recommended. With a good turnout, we should finish by noon and end up at Player’s for pizza and maybe a beer or two. Thanks to Bob Kline for his effort in coordinating this project.

Thanks to Jeanne Puleo for orchestrating the Speech Contest and to Barbara Ross for recruiting the 3 contestants for last week's meeting. All of the speeches were excellent. Josh Lien (right) (our male speaker) took first place. Kaia Smith (middle) took second, and Taylor Petty (left) took third place. Josh will be moving on to the Area 4 contest in Grass Valley on March 29th. All of the students represent Ghidotti Early College High School.
Anna Dillavou (right) was acknowledged as Rotarian of the Month for December for her hard work with the holiday baskets project as well as the Christmas party. Barbara Ross (left) received Rotarian of the Month for February for her work and time spent with the musicians and speakers for all 5 clubs for our music and speech contests. I do not know how she is able to do all that she does regarding Rotary. We are very lucky to have you in our club. Thank You.
Co-President-Elect Dave Walker represented our Club at the Presidents-Elect Training Seminar (PETS) in San Jose last weekend. He joined local PEs (left to right) Dick Law (Nevada City 49er), Walt Stickel (Nevada City), Dave, Eric Trygg (Grass Valley), Dennis Geare (Assistant Governor) and Tyson Trevethick (Grass Valley South) and 600 others from Northern and Central California, Nevada and Hawaii for 3 days of training and inspiration as they prepare to take over the reigns of their respective clubs. Congratulations, Dave!
