Once again, our scheduled speaker had a conflict and we punted!  SCORE!  Yep, right between two goalposts!  Barb Ross stepped in and laid out plans for the Annual Drew Reynolds Memorial Softball Tourney we’ve sponsored for years.

 

As in the past, it will be on Memorial Day Weekend and the discussion circled around how we can make the event better this year.  As you know, it is the club’s ONLY fundraising project.

 

Ideas came from a number of those present, ranging from expanding it to a Friday Night “All-Star Invitational (in the hopes of inviting and drawing former players back to the venue, thus rejuvenating interest in the tournament) to selling Mark Fleming’s BBQ Chicken!  (Personally, I think that alone would raise millions).  By discussing the issue this far in advance, Barb hopes to have a plan in place early enough for us to heavily market and promote the event.  Stay tuned.

 

My thanks to Dave W., who has worked his elbows off (I cleaned that up)! Looks like Tim O’Brien will be our guest speaker Tuesday. This is one you don’t wanna miss!

 

Don’t forget, the Area Four Grand Poobah (Gov. Doug) will be visiting us November 21 to bring us up to speed with the activities on-going in our district. Welcome home, Your Majesty!

We still have no incoming President-Elect on board. Time to step-up as training begins in a few months.
