For those of you who missed the Area Speech Contest, the 5 speakers were excellent. The judges had their hands full picking a winner. Bonnie Brown (middle) sponsored by the 49er Breakfast Club took first place and will compete at the conference, Jonathon Beck (right) took 2nd place , our Josh Lien (left) took 3rd place and Sam Hales and Kathryn Freeland received honorable mention. Thank you to all who participated in judging, telling and time keeping, especially Jeanne Puleo for organizing and chairing the event, recruited the judges, tellers and time keepers, and coordinating with the other clubs.
A special thanks to Debbi Corbett for relieving me of speaking between speakers with her Rotary trivia questions with Tootsie Rolls as rewards for answering questions. Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our club helped sponsor the Easter Egg Hunt in Western Gateway Park over Easter weekend. A number of Rotarians showed up to help out, and we want to thank them all.
The annual Joanie Bumpus Daffodil Run is scheduled for Sunday, April 10th -- that's next Sunday! Plan to be there!
Our program for this week will be Bill Drown from the Grass Valley Police Dept. volunteer program. Eric Trygg says this guy wil have us laughing.
