This coming Saturday, November 7 is End Polio Now Day for all of our area clubs. We will be stationed at Holiday Market taking donations. A no-host celebration will follow at 151 Union Square (located at 151 Mill St.) in Grass Valley at 5:00pm. Anyone is welcome to attend to share our success that day.
Anna Dillavou has offered to take responsibility for this year's Christmas Party and our holiday baskets project with Holiday Market. Anna is checking with Betty Cook to see if she will host again this year and possible dates available in early December. Torie England and Nicole Van Vacas Gagnon are interested in assisting Anna. Thank you.
Bob Kline has done a marvelous job with our District Service Grant application for the bike park at Western Gateway Park. We are very close to funding.
Our fundraising BBQ will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Western Gateway Park from 11:00am to 3:00pm plus. I would like everyone to make an effort to attend this fun day. Live music, horseshoes and great food. Friends, family and children are also invited. $25.00 per head and $10.00 for children. For those members who are unable to attend, we are asking for a $50.00 donation to the club. I would rather see us all there.
Happy Anniversary to Dick and Queen Beth Landis. 73 years, pretty amazing!
Barbara Juneau gave an enlightened history of our local radio station KNCO. Our own Mike Dobbins played a large roll in this history. If you want to see Mike with lots of black hair, you must purchase this book. I have known Mike for over 30 years and did not recognize him.
Our Veteran's Day program for Tuesday’s meeting will be Pat Ward and Dick Panzica form the Grass Valley Club speaking on operation homecoming in 1973 of the prisoners released from Vietnam. Try not to miss this. Eric says it is a great program.
Board meeting at 11:00 AM prior to our regular meeting.
See you next week.
P.S. We will be dark on Nov. 17, Nov. 24, Dec. 22 and Dec. 29.
