I want to thank all of our board and committee chairs for their excellent reports to our district governor, Gail “Virus” Ellingwood, at Tuesday's extended meeting. I believe she left us feeling very satisfied that our club is in good hands and set up for a successful year. She emphasized that there are resources available for all areas if help or assistance is needed.

At our regular meeting, which involved very little of my efforts, she was put to work presenting many awards. Dick and Beth Landis were presented a Major Donor Level 2 award, which was reciprocated with a check from Dick for $1000 for an additional gift to The Rotary Foundation! Dick and Beth are something special in our Rotary family.

Barbara Ross was presented with a certificate for being our choice as “A Gift to the World Award” for her hard work and dedication to all phases of our clubs success. Our choice for the “Quiet Rotarian Award” went to Dave Walker for his efforts and dedication to membership and financial matters involving our club foundation.

Gail presented Dave Walker with his Paul Harris +2 and I received the Paul Harris +1.

On top of all of  the above, Gail inducted Bethany Trevethick as 1 of 2 of our first corporate members from the Lake Wildwood Association. Debbie Casey will be inducted soon as the second. Excited about having you as part of our Rotary family, Bethany.

Gail followed with an inspirational talk on Rotary in general with emphasis on the Foundation and the wonderful things our donations provide in the form of grants for our community and global projects. Gail was fun and very easy to listen to. She signed a book that will be placed in the Williams Ranch  School library on her behalf. I also want to thank Gail’s husband Dan for his support and attendance. He has been traveling with Gail to all 59 clubs in our District 5190 this year.
