We started our meeting last week with a great conversation (45 minutes) with Andrew Puleo in Germany through Skype. He spoke of his language barriers, typical school day and classes, homesickness, adventures and sightseeing, host family etc. etc. We are so proud of him and his accomplishments, although I got the feeling he will be anxious to return to Nevada County.
Please keep the 19th of November at 5:30pm on your calendar for the Foundation Dinner in Grass Valley. I would like to see a good representation from our club in support of Dan Halloran’s wonderful efforts in our Foundation giving. We seem to be setting records.
We are needing a new president-elect as Luis Vazquez is being transferred to Marysville with his job. How unfortunate is this? We will miss him. He would have made a great president. Volunteers or nominations are welcome. Don’t all raise your hands at once. Ha Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fundraising in our club is of prime concern at this time. We need something immediate as well as for next year. A committee was formed consisting of Debbi Corbett, Bob Kline, Dan Halloran, Mike Dobbins, Jeanne Puleo, Bethany Trevethick, Dave Walker and myself. Dave Walker has offered to chair. Our first meeting will be at 1:30pm following this week's meeting. I will ask for additional participation next week. We will all be brainstorming between now and then.
