Barry Svendsen from Holiday Market was presented a Paul Harris Fellowship by our club today for his efforts and enthusiasm in holiday food baskets last season. We hope to continue our relationship season after season.
The Rivercats trip was a total success. All clubs in Area 4 were involved and all had a great time. Thank you to my neighbors, John and Debbie Whalin (non- Rotarians) for putting food and drinks together for both busses. The Rivercats won with a score of 14 to 3 which happened to be their 12th win in a row. The weather was perfect and seats over first base were great. An album of pictures is available to view on our website at www.pennvalleyrotary.org.
Bob Kline was presented with his Paul Harris Fellowship +7. Thank you Bob for your continued support of our Rotary Foundation.
Dan Halloran, Doug and Karen Mc Donald and myself will attend the foundation seminar in Incline Village this Saturday the 29th. I wish more members would get engaged in this type activity.
Fall Festival vendor applications are coming in the mail each week. A sign-up sheet will be coming soon for all to help make this fundraiser a success.
Bob Kline and Dan Halloran will soon be applying for a grant for Western Gateway Park's bike park.
Grass Valley South Rotary Club is putting on a 9 hole night golf tournament at Alta Sierra Country Club. Cost will be $60.00 that will include a bratwurst dinner. If you haven’t played golf at night, this is a must. Great fun!!!!!!!!!!!. A 3 golf club tournament was brought up as a possible fundraiser for our club. More to come.
Our own Barry Gray spoke on the state of the market with insight on what to expect in the near future. A conservative approach was recommended . I am sure he would be available to answer any questions you may have.
Mike Dobbins will be next weeks program, speaking on the Civil War. Don’t miss this one. He was even thinking of charging admission. Ha Ha.
See you Tuesday, and have a great weekend.
