Tuesday, December 15, Noon.... Zoom meeting.....Ugly Holiday Sweater contest...
It's time to celebrate the season...unfortunately we won't be able to have a Holiday Party like last year (who can forget Greg and Lin's winning sweaters!!??) However we can dust off our ugly (or cute however you perceive them) sweater and join the gang for the Ugly Holiday Sweater contest.. prizes include a holiday ham, gift cards and who knows what else...
 
 
 
  plus ... a Farewell to Dan Halloran..... A Bon Voyage send off for Dan Halloran into the Arizona sunset with a huge "Bravo and Thanks"...

Last week Penn Valley Rotary Club Board approved the following slate of officers and committee chairs for the 2021-2022 Rotary year to move forward to the membership for approval...this will be done at the Ugly Sweater meeting...

The Best Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest...I've got mine, have you got yours??? Let's see what you've got when you join our December 15 noon Zoom Club meeting...link for the meeting will be sent on Tuesday AM of December 15...check your email...
 
Holiday Food Baskets are on their way....
Kudos to Joyce Feldman, Nicole Van Vacas Gagnon and Dr. Torie for organizing the Holiday Food Baskets...these baskets will be distributed to 36 families from the Penn Valley Elementary School District on December 16...we know that many are hurting this year, and we want to do all we can, to help as many as we can, with as much as we can...Thanks also to Gene Vander Plaats, Greg Marshall and Mark Bailey for turkey transport...
 
WOW points tabling: This will take place again on December 19, from 10-1...to collect WOW points for the coming year...Thanks to Nicole for working with Holiday Market and Joyce for setting the schedule for volunteers...And thanks to those who are volunteering: Ed McSweeney, Greg Marshall, the Van Vacas Gagnon family, Michel Kelly and Lindy Beatie. Proudly serving our community...
 
 
Mark your calendars!! Christmas tree recycling...Lake Wildwood Christmas Tree recycling will take place on January 9...Special thanks to the following for working on this project: Mark Bailey, Mark Fleming, Gordon and Ryan Beatie, Gene Vander Plaats, Jim Sears (local yard  maintenance provider) and the students of Nevada Union Interact and the Weeblos of Cub Pack 275.  We still need a few more volunteers to help, so connect with Greg Marshal if you'd like to help...Thanks,  Greg, for organizing this fun event....gsmarshall67@aol.com...
 
 
Watch for a "Clean the Garden" dates....Moving forward on our Ready Springs Garden project, the tool shed should be in place before the end of the year...Mark Fleming noticed that the garden could use some clean up, so expect a notice of a work day (or two) in between the raindrops over the next few weeks...

 
Sock donation a success!!  with a special thanks to President Pam for donating such a large number of socks, we over achieved this time...donated nearly 70 pairs of socks to the Grass Valley United Methodist Church's "Stockings for kids" project in partnership with Interfaith Food Ministry...Way to go!!
 
Please Please Please...if you have not already paid your dues for this year, please do so TODAY!! NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO INVITE A FRIEND TO JOIN OUR ROTARY CLUB...Dues for the second half of the year are only $75 for January 2021- June 2021....Invite them to a zoom meeting (it only takes two to begin the membership process)...we've got some great projects going and welcome new ideas and fresh faces...
