MEETING TIMES....1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, noon, Players Restaurant and Sports Bar, Penn Valley... First meeting of the New Rotary Year, on July 1, we will have all of the presidents from the Western Nevada County clubs...it should be fun to visit with all of them and to hear what their plans are for the year..plus we will be hearing from Zach Cordova, our RYLA attendee, about his experience at RYLA camp...Zach also attended REGL when he was an 8th grader at Ready Springs...my how time flys!! On July 17, we will have a planning discussion on the Pups for Polio event, scheduled for October 18 at Western Gateway Park...make sure and attend this planning meeting. We are partnering with the Western Gateway Dog Park and it should be lots of fun!! On July 22, we will have a social at the home of Carrie Lesperance (Darleen Won-Golder's friend) for a tour of her Permaculture home and garden... Potluck appetizers from 5pm - 7:30 pm. We'll have a sign up sheet at the July 1 meeting but can also RSVP to me - lori.hope.pvrotary@gmail.com... Our August 5 meeting highlights a visit from our District Governor, Larry Harvey...we will also be inducting a new member, Bridget Grant... ***************************************************************** Service to our Community... This fall we will start on our Western Gateway Park bathroom Refurbishing project...awaiting final approval from the District for matching funds...Stay tuned for dates and tasks ... Next Hospitality House cooking - June 25 New Year Rotary dues...You should have received your invoice for the 1st half of the 2025-2026 Rotary Dues (July 1 to December 31) in your email for $117.50 ...please pay by June 20 ... We are invoiced from Rotary for each member on our roster on July 1 and Jan 1 so please make sure you make a payment so we don't have to use club funds (meant for community projects and youth programs) to pay your dues...Thanks!! ***************************************************************************** No children paralyzed by wild poliovirus this week! And no positive environmental sample for both wild poliovirus and the variant polioviruses!! Unfortunately, there were three children confirmed paralyzed by variant poliovirus type 2 in 3 countries (1 each from Angola, Benin, and Niger). There's still work to do... International Service in our Area 4.. The Rotary Club of Nevada City 49er Breakfast Club will be going on a service trip October 17th – October 24 to San Miguel de Allende.
