NEXT MEETING....TUESDAY, May 4, "Welcome Back" club social, 5 pm...Western Gateway Park........Invitation from President Elect Joyce: "Now that so many of our club members have been vaccinated and the State is starting to ease restrictions, the Penn Valley Rotary Club would like to welcome you back to fun by announcing our first social event for 2021! " Who: all members, spouses, friends/family and guests Where: Western Gateway Park Date: May 4, 2021 Time: 5 pm until ......dusk? What: Bring your own dinner, beverage, utensils, plates and a mask. We will have dinner together and play cornhole and maybe a couple of other games such as Bocce, Cards, Mexican Train? If you have a game to share, bring it along. Why: Fellowship is the key to Rotary's success and it has been way too long since we have enjoyed each other's company in person. We hope to see you there! PLANTER BOX PLANTING...APRIL 29, 10 AM On Thursday, April 29, we will be helping the students at Ready Springs School plant flowers in 10 brand new planter boxes. These boxes will be placed throughout the lower campus and will give the students a chance to nurture nature. We need at least 5-6 folks to help guide the students and teacher on this final project of our Ready Spring garden project...connect with Past Prez Lindy for details...lindybeatie@gmail.com New Member President Pamela and Membership Chair Mark Fleming will be inducting Sharon Currie into membership at the May 4 social...Let's give her a rousing welcome!!! Our Area Speech contestant won the District Speech contest!! Katia Griffin won the District speech contest...here is the link to her YouTube speech... WE MISS YOU...Sadly we have to say good bye to the following members: Joanie and Carle Bumpus...moved to Reno...hope we can connect when we're in Reno on Rotary Business... Dr. Torie Gibson...many congrats but sad good byes as she moves to a new position with the Amador County Unified School District.. Dan Halloran will be joining the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes, AZ...such a great Rotarian...glad he's still in our Zone!! Happy times for us.... Melissa Conley, Principal at Williams Ranch School who was selected as the new Superintendent of the Penn Valley Union Elementary School District...can't wait to have you on board at our club!!
