President’s Message

Hi Everyone,

If you missed the Area 4 High School Music Contest on Wednesday, 27 Mar 2019, you missed out on a real treat as 11 contestants displayed some amazing musical talent.  In my estimation, the contest was very close and very enjoyable. For me, seeing youth at their best is always very enjoyable and rewarding.  It adds a little faith in the future of our area.

Well the first week of April is upon us and full of opportunities for our club.

2 April Tuesday, our noon Luncheon - remember the lunch price is going up today - $15.00

6 April Saturday, 8 am District 5190 Club Leadership Assembly, Nugget, Reno, register on the District 5190 website

7 April Sunday, 6:30 am, annual Joanie Bumpus Daffodil Run, WGP

On Tuesday, we may have an opportunity to present a Paul Harris Award to one of our members.  See you on Tuesday, 2 April 2019, noon at Player’s Pizza.

News From Pedro Spegorin - Our Brazilian Exchange Student 2014-2015
Pedro sent an email to the McDonald Family this past week. He is doing fine, finishing college and thinking of his future. He is considering attending an American university for his MBA. Lucky for him Cameron McDonald has been attending the Business School at UCDavis and was able to give him a good deal of information. Pedro wanted to be remembered to all of the club - he holds many great memories of his home away from home, Penn Valley Rotary.

Distinguished Citizen Dinner - Honoring Hank Weston
Special thanks to Hank Weston for being Penn Valley Rotary's  2019 Distinguished Citizen. Lindy Beatie led our efforts with this fundraiser, thank you for a job well done. Thanks to Mark Bailey, Mike Mastrodonato, Rick Nolle, George Broder, Darleen Won-Golder, Bruce Golder, Pam Yazell, Gene Vander Der Plaats, Doug and Karen McDonald and Joanie Bumpus.
