Speaker Rod Byer Speaks to Penn Valley Rotary Tuesday, May 14
Rod Byers, CWE, is a Certified Wine Educator and wine writer as well as a California State Certified Wine Judge. He writes a wine column for The Union Newspaper, is the host of the public access television show Wine Talk, and taught wine classes at Sierra College for fifteen years. He has been actively involved with the California wine industry since 1980 including working as Director of Sales and Marketing for Nevada City Winery for 25 years. He is currently the director of Nevada City Uncorked.

NEW Club Fundraiser! Disc and Dine
Disc and Dine will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Western Gate Park - 5 pm Disc Clinic and 6 pm BBQ dinner. The final details are being worked out but we have lots of information to share: Debbi Corbett's son, Danny Corbett, owner of OTBDisc.com, will instruct the clinic with the support of local Penn Valley disc golfers. There will be games such as closest to the pin, longest drive, and a putting contests. Our BBQ favorite chef Mark Fleming, with the support of DeeDee Vierra and Sheila Grizzell, will create a wonderful dinner. No-host beer and wine will be offered and, possibly, some music, which is still being finalized. YOU will be asked to help with selling tickets and work that day. Tickets are $25 each which includes the clinic and the BBQ dinner. The information is on the front page of our club website (www.pennvalleyrotary.com). President Mark Visits Rotary's International Conference, Prepares for Demotion
President Mark and his wife, Linda, will be heading to Hamburg, Germany later this month for Rotary International Conference and a vacation. They will have the opportunity to hear from RI President and see international opportunities for service. They will have an amazing week of activities, shopping, and presentations with Rotarians from around the world. President Mark's Demotion is calendared for the evening of Tuesday, June 25. Mike Dobbins is chairing the event as the past-president. Details are being finalized.

"We need a shirt" can be heard every time we have an outing or project. Your cries have been heard. Lindy is working to get some ideas and prices for personalized Rotary logo wear for all club members. Be watching the SPOKE and at the meetings for more information.
