Speaker: Kimberly Parker, Sierra Nevada Hospital Foundation From Pres Joyce: This week's speaker....our very own Grass Valley Rotarian, District Governor Anita Daniels!! DG Anita will be talking about district wide initiatives, how we can work together as clubs on local issues...she will be presenting the "Quiet Rotarian" award and the "Heart of Service" award...and inducting our new member, Tessa DeVere.....make sure and be there to welcome DG Anita to our club... Our last meeting featured Executive Director Gil Mathews from the Nevada County Economic Resource Council. Gil gave us an update of how the community is building it's resources to attract more business and to help businesses grow...It was a great way to hear about new industries and programs where community members could be involved...
If you have small bottles of toiletries to donate, please bring them so that Past President Pamela can donate them to Hospitality House. Mark your calendars: World Polio Day...we will be working with New Life Nursery again on Plants for Polio - October 24....if you can staff the table for an hour between 12-2, let Lindy know...flyers will be available at the meeting if you have a place to publicize this event.... Holiday Market WOW donation days... Nicole Van Vacas Gagnon has arranged for us to table outside of Holiday Market on Dec 4 & 11 to ask folks to donate their WOW points to our Penn Valley Rotary account ...these points help us purchase food for the holiday baskets for our families ...We need folks to staff the tables outside of Holiday Market to remind the PV community to donate to us .. a sign up sheet will be circulated during the next few meetings.... Also, we need volunteers to help with the Christmas Tree recycling event January 8 from 9 to 1...anyone with a truck is asked to help...we have 7 routes throughout Lake Wildwood to cover...thanks to Melissa Conley for stepping up to take on the leadership of this event, but "It Takes a Village" to handle this project so mark your calendars...
