Last week we held our annual high school music contest. Delphine Griffith with her harp took first place, Braeden Ames with his flute took second place and Calder Wilson (bass guitar) and Rowan Williams (trombone) tied for third place. Delphine and Braeden will compete in the Area 4 competition April 10th in Grass Valley.
Keep Dick Landis in your prayers for a quick recovery. He is now in a rehab center in Auburn prior to hopefully coming home and back to his Rotary ways.
Last week, Doug McDonald was acknowledged Rotarian of the Month for January (even though he was not here for most of it) for his dedication to Rotary while on vacation and getting the Spoke to us for 3 consecutive weeks. Great job, Doug.
I would love to see as many members possible join me at the District Conference at the Atlantis Hotel in Reno on May 12-15. I went to my first conference last year and had a blast starting with the golf tournament, the great speakers and the good food, etc. This is a celebration (party) of our year. Register on the district website (www.rotarydistrict5190.org) and join in the fun.
Our speaker for this week will be Stephanie Ortiz from Sierra College, Nevada County campus.
Remember the board meeting at 11:00AM, just prior to our regular meeting. All club members are invited to attend.
See you Tuesday.
