Tuesday, April 5...Sue Hoek, our county Supervisor, will provide an update and discuss the goals the board has established for the coming year. Tuesday, April 19...Nevada County Free Health Clinic with Mindy Oberne and Phil Vadara Tuesday, May 3...Introducing the "Thrive Store" on the Ready Springs campus...Principal Chrissy McKweon will introduce this project to our club and how we can help in keeping the store stocked... From Pres Joyce: It was great to hear about the real estate market ... Teresa Dietrich gave a great overview of the current market, construction and issues surrounding our community...Currently there are 151 active homes on the market with 166 in contract so inventory is very low, which drives up the prices. Her main concern is the amount of affordable housing for our workforce and she discussed a number of projects that may help in that area. We had two guests, Ken Holbrook's wife Cheryl Rellstab, who brought one of her fabulous lemon meringue pies, and Frank Goss from the Penn Valley Rodeo Association....Hope to see you both again!! Past President Pamela read to students at Williams Ranch School during Read Across America day...Given Rotary's dedication to literacy across the globe and in our own community, this is a great way to be involved and we will be adding this event to our schedule during the next Rotary year as well...Thanks Pamela!! Our Area Community Awards events will take place on March 27 at Miners Foundry...see flyer for details... Registration for the District conference is open..."All Aboard with Rotary"... District conference is a celebration of the year...it will be held at Harrah's in South Lake Tahoe, April 29-May 1....you can see the line up of speakers, breakout sessions and activities (lake tahoe dinner cruise on Friday night, Walk for Polio on Saturday morning) at www.district5190.org...it should be a blast!!
