NOTES FOR Tuesday, September 3

No Meeting this Week - Labor Day Holiday

Last Tuesday's DISC AND DINE was a successful fundraising event! Thanks to Co-Chairs Debbi Corbett and Karen McDonald and everyone who helped make the event a huge success! Chef Mark Fleming assisted by Mike Dobbins did a great job fixing the barbecued chicken dinner. Players Pizza provided the side dishes, and donated the beer and wine. Desserts were furnished by all the members. Teams helped set-up and clean-up!

Key to the event were the Disc Golf players and instructors from both Stockton and Grass Valley! Danny Corbett from OTBDiscs.com organized an enthusiastic group of instructors. About 80 attended the fun evening event, and all felt that it was great fun and a good idea.

Fairway Test - Golf for Our Kids is coming up on October 6th. Chair Gene vander Plaats needs one more golfer to round out our team, so if you can join the golfers, let Gene know.
Pledges can be made on our website (pennvalleyrotary.org) or use the pledge forms that Gene will have at the next meeting.

Past President Mark Bailey sent us this update on his recovery: "I am recovering quite well.  The Home Care Nurse just released me from care as my wounds are healing nicely and my vitals are good.  Our next hurdle is an appointment with the Cardiologist on September 11.  After that I will have a clearer picture of what lies in the immediate future." We all wish Mark a full and speedy recovery.
