Members supported continuing many of the current programs. New ideas included: The Club's board approved submitting a $1500 matching grant to District to refurbish the bathrooms at Western Gateway Park. Tom Diede, Brandon Lindsen, WG Recreation & Park District chair, and I assessed the building needs including labor and materials. The grant will provide $3000 for these repairs and upgrades. Another idea presented was "Pups for Polio" a day at WGP for folks to get pictures with their dogs. Partnering with the WGP Dog Park, we would invite vendors and nonprofit organizations to participate. Funds would go to our club's contribution for World Polio Day and the the Western Gateway Dog Park. A planning meeting/discussion is planned for the July 15 club meeting. Also, a Penn Valley Pickleball Tournament was proposed as a club fundraiser. This event was positively received by our members and will be revisited in July. And there was discussion of the idea for quarterly Game Night, perhaps in conjunction with another organization or just a social for club. Mark your calendars.... Next Hospitality House cooking - May 28 New Rotary year starts July 1...You should have received your invoice for the 1st half of the 2025-2026 Rotary Dues (July 1 to December 31) in your email for $117.50 ... the second half will be invoiced in November for payment by the end of December... We are invoiced from Rotary for each member on our roster on July 1 and Jan 1 so please make sure you make a payment so we don't have to use club funds (meant for community projects and youth programs) to pay your dues...Thanks!! ***************************************************************************** Daffodil Run Update Donation was made to Western Gateway Park from the Daffodil Run... Prez Elect Lori Hope thanked the board and presented the check...
