President’s Message

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to those Penn Valley Rotarians who painted the Little Libraries on Rotary’s Work Day, 27 April 2019.  Once the doors are competed, we will begin to install them in Penn Valley.  Currently, we have identified 3 locations for these Little Libraries:  Penn Valley True Value Hardware, Western Gateway Park, and near Williams Ranch School. One other location is being scouted out.

I think the Grass Valley Brewing Company was a hit with those who participated in our 5th Tuesday of the month social outing Tuesday 30Apr2019.  The food was good.  I was told by a reliable source that the Brews were pretty good as well.  I really enjoyed the outing and we had a very good crowd, even Anna Dillavou who we don’t see very often was there.

Ivy Brott from NU’s Interact Club will be our Tuesday’s luncheon speaker.  Also, we will be wrapping flowers and delivering these flowers to our local school for Teacher’s Appreciation day.

See you on Tuesday, Player’s Pizza, at noon.

NEW Club Fundraiser! Disc and Dine
Disc and Dine will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Western Gate Park - 5 pm Disc Clinic  and 6 pm BBQ dinner. The final details are being worked out but we have lots of information to share: Debbi Corbett's son, Danny Corbett, owner of OTBDisc.com, will instruct the clinic with the support of local Penn Valley disc golfers. There will be games such as closest to the pin, longest drive, and a putting contests. Our BBQ favorite chef Mark Fleming, with the support of DeeDee Vierra and Sheila Grizzell, will create a wonderful dinner. No-host beer and wine will be offered and, possibly, some music, which is still being finalized. YOU will be asked to help with selling tickets and work that day. Tickets are $25 each which includes the clinic and the BBQ dinner. The information is on the front page of our club website (www.pennvalleyrotary.com). If you have a talent or favorite job that you would like to support this fundraiser with please contact Debbi or Karen. More information coming!
