April Rotary Theme: Maternal and Child Heath Month NEXT MEETING....TUESDAY, April 20 , Noon....watch for zoom link details on Monday...The new president of the Penn Valley Chamber of Commerce, Gene Gilligan, will speak on the work of the Chamber post pandemic...he's eager to hear how our club can collaborate with the chamber for a healthy business community in the greater Penn Valley area. Last meeting....Eric Trygg gave a rousing tribute to the life of the late Madelyn Helling, the first county librarian, who passed away recently at the age of 95. He talked about how his special friendship with Madelyn and how she could be tough as nails, and sweet as pie. He also asked that folks think about those living in assisted living center, and try and visit them to curb their loneliness... We also had a short visit from our Cub Scout Troop 275. The popped into to introduce themselves and then conducted their own meeting. Thanks to Maria Galvez for helping us keep in touch. Thanks to the following judges who took part in our Area 4 Speech contest...Ron Egenes/Toastmaster, Joanne Ashford/Grass Valley South Rotarian and our very own Bruce Golder...there were two sessions of contests, from 12-2 the judges heard from 4 contestants, and from 4-6 they heard from 2 contestants .
