PV Rotary Club board meeting, Oct 27, noon.... PREZ PAMELA'S PROSE... Last week's speaker, Jack Emery, former president of GV Rotary, was fantastic. At 71 he walked the Pacific Crest Trail and shared his experiences and suggestions. He met folks along the way that he's still in contact with today. His message was clear: "When you hike, it doesn’t matter the age, the political affiliations, religious membership, where you are from...we are all one is this endeavor to be in the wild and experience nature. Like Rotary we join together for the common good of all." Mark your calendars for our Plants for Polio on World Polio Day, Saturday, October 24 - New Life Nursery, Lori Jayne's son's business in Penn Valley is donating 10% of the day's sales to our Polio fund....If you can put a flyer somewhere to publicize, let Lindy know and she'll email...tabling for Rotary members between 12 - 2 - let Past Prez Lindy know if you can help...This will be our social meeting for the month....October 24 is also Shred Day at the Penn Valley Chamber of Commerce. $5 a banker's box support our local Chamber...Get rid of that old stuff and help our community grow... Please volunteer!!! Paula Collins and Prez Pamela are starting a "Read to the Class" program with Williams Ranch school, via zoom.. Anyone who wants to help read once a week to students for approximately 1/2 hour via zoom, connect with Paula Collins at 273-7461...Should be FUN !!! (remember our 5th Rotary Rule!!)... The Garden Project - Greg Marshall and Gordon Beatie have completed almost 8 planter boxes...a meeting is planned at Ready Springs for next Friday, Oct 23 to start work on the compost pile...show up to help... Please send in your dues for this Rotary year...mail to the club at PO Box 120, Penn Valley, CA 95946...the club has already paid dues for this year so we need to replenish the coffers...you can pay in two installments, and do not have to pay your birthday/anniversary fines until the month they are due....Thanks for keeping Rotary alive in Penn Valley...
