President Pamela's meeting was definitely a Purple explosion!! She explained what being a Purple Person means: "They bring their family, friends, and communities together, and they speak up for what’s right. They are kind and hardworking, and they love to laugh" ...so her challenge this year is for us all to become, or continue to be, Purple People.... Club Visit by District Governor Roberta (Berta) Pickett....This week's meeting we welcome District Governor (DG for short) Berta Picket from the Rotary Club of Amador Upcountry! DG Berta will meet with the board first and then join our Zoom club meeting at 12:00...Let's all make a taco for a Taco Tuesday lunch as we listen and share DG Berta's vision of growth and service to our community, our district and our world...Bring your creative ideas as we discuss our future goals and plans for the coming year... Next meetings...Our next meeting will be an evening social on July 28...place and time tbd...then in August, we will meet via zoom on Aug 4 & 18 at noon, with an evening social on Aug 28...Sept 1 & 15 via zoom and Sept 25 evening social...Prez Pamela's plan is to have 2 zoom noon meetings and 1 monthly social until we can get back to a safe place...the board is also discussing other time options for Zoom meeting, maybe early evening, maybe one noon and one evening zoom meeting and one social..let our Prez know your thoughts by contacting her at pamelayaz@gmail.com ... The Mask Lady strikes again...on Thursday, July 9, Past President Lindy delivered 48 kids masks to the school lunch distribution program at Ready Springs School...Cathy received them with open arms and the kids had a blast picking out their favorite...We want to thank that dedicated Mask Lady and hope she will join us on a zoom call so we can thank her ... Attention Club Golfers! - It's baaaack!!! Gene Vander Plaats and Dan Halloran are putting together our team (s) for another round of Golf for Kids in support of our club's Youth Services programs, scholarships and the Garden at Ready Springs, playing with the PV Lions Club. Meals on Wheels delivery to shut-ins in Lake Wildwood ...our task list will be available next week...Joyce is going to see if we can use our ClubRunner format to allow members to sign up...so far, Mike Dobbins is going to work on PR, Ed McSweeney, Paula Collins, Prez Pamela and Past Prez Lindy have volunteered...check out the task and see what you can do...many hands make light work... SIERRA HARVEST GARDEN & AG curriculum AT READY SPRINGS SCHOOL... This is our one big project for the year....President Pamela will be writing a District matching grant so we can have funds to bring this to fruition...She'll be working with Mark Bailey and, hopefully, our resident Agriculture expert, Denise Cicogni, to get started later this summer...we'll need all hands on deck for this project, so find your garden gloves and pitch in where you can...updates regularly starting in August...
