Hi Everyone,

David Emery’s presentation on water collection and filtration for the rural areas of Cambodia touched many hearts and evoked one of the members to want to donate funds for one family water collection system and water filtering system.  There may be others who want to donate to this venture.  Details will be provided in the near future regarding how to donate to this cause. “Promoting Clean Water and Sanitation” is one of the Rotary Foundation’s “Six Areas of Focus”.

On Tuesday, 21 April 2018, you will have the opportunity to request the amount of “Recognition” dollars you would like to donate to the club for the 2018/2019 Rotary Year.  A few of you may have already provided your “Recognition” funds for the year but we want everyone to document their desired amount so we can keep track of the amounts of recognition through out the year. Recognition’s are Birthdays and Anniversaries of all kinds. If you want to be a Bell Ringer” a donation of $100 enables you to ring the bell on those recognition occasions. Look for your sheet at the beginning of the meeting.  I will try and have several pens for your use.

Darleen Won-Golder has volunteered to chair the Christmas Food collection and distribution to children in need in our local Schools.  Darleen may need some members’ help to spear head specific sub-functions of this activity such as the collection of WOW points, etc.  Stay tuned for further developments for one of the ways we “do good” in our community.

Torie England, Superintendent of the Penn Valley Union School District and member, will be our Speaker this coming Tuesday.  Don’t miss this opportunity to hear about the current state of our local Schools.
