Update on Mark Bailey:
Continued prayers of support and health for Mark and Linda Bailey - Mark is home and recuperating.

Sad to report:
Club member Anna DilLavou texted me with the sad news that her sister, Ruthie Portillo, finished her battle with stage four breast cancer Wednesday morning. We supported Ruthie with a donation during the early years in her battle with cancer. Ruthie was able to fight cancer for seven years. Our thoughts and prayers are with Anna and her family during this time. If you would like to send a card to Anna, her address is PO Box 2954, Grass Valley, CA 95945

NEXT WEEK'S PROGRAM: DG RANDY VAN TASSELL
Please come and greet our DG Randy at the meeting on August 20. DG Randy will be giving us words of encouragement and thoughts about our club. We've rallied this past year with increased membership, new projects in the community and a new sense of energy - let's celebrate with DG Randy's visit!

DISC AND DINE - Tuesday, August 27th - Western Gateway Park - 5pm
Don't forget that you need to sell your tickets by August 20th or turn in $100 to the Rotary Foundation for your donation. Everyone needs to bring a DESSERT to the event.
We are in need of folks to work on the food committee and clean up committee. Please contact Debbi.

UPCOMING SEMINAR: Visioning
Our club will have a Visioning Seminar on Saturday, August 17, from 9am until 1pm (including lunch) at Lake Wildwood Clubhouse. The exact meeting room is still to be determined. Our facilitators will be Robin Milam, Dennis Geare, and PDG Gail Ellingwood. It will be an interactive and positive session. Club members who attend will build a vision for our club for the next few years. Come and be apart of this experience and help craft the club's future role in our community and the world; bring your ideas on activities, fundraisers, service projects and other ideas for involvement. Be sure to sign up with Karen at the meeting or email her at karenmcdon@aol.com. A count is needed for lunch and in order that we can leave your name at the gate.

UPCOMING TRAINING - Avenues of Service
Saturday, September 28, 8:30 - 3:45, Truckee Meadows Community College - All Rotarians and committee chairs are invited to attend the day-long session to help keep our club running and moving forward. This will support increased membership, fundraising work, service, and grant work. Lets carpool over the hill to continue the conversation. If you need more information or to register please go to District5190.org
