MEETINGS on the ZOOM!!
It was a fabulous meeting on June 23!!  We found out a little more about a new club project - helping Meals on Wheels deliver meals to shut ins in Lake Wildwood.  There are 14 folks who have difficulty getting out of the house and are currently receiving weekly meals from Gold Country Senior Services.  We'd like to increase the number of weekly meals with more volunteers and a space to hold frozen meals.  More to come...
 
Also a fabulous presentation by Rotactor Laura from The Netherlands on a Rotary project in Gambia and their automobile adventure from The Netherlands to Gambia to deliver supplies to childcare and medical centers...It was fun to have her join us in real time from The Netherlands...
 
 
Meetings for July...we will continue having 2 Zoom meetings and 1 in person meeting for July and August...
Our First Zoom meeting will be on July 7....Our next one will be on July 14 with our guest, District Governor Roberta (Berta) Pickett.  A club board meeting will precede the club meeting at 10:30 am...

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES...
 
Help with planning a July 4th ( but on the 3rd) celebration for the families that pick up meals at Ready Springs...We'll be working on a celebration for families that pick up meals on July 3, so if you have any creative ideas on how to celebrate the 4th, let President Lindy know...some ideas include: balloons, handmade pinwheels to distribute, bag of noise makers among others...connect with Past President Lindy lindybeatie@gmail.com to volunteer to help...
 
 
New Year's Dues....Invoices will be sent out on July 1, please let us know if there are any changes by June 30.... dues for this Rotary Year (July 1 to June 30) will be $155, reflecting the $20 discount for District 5190 dues...this is a one time discount...Each member will receive a statement from the Treasurer listing their dues amount and the amounts of their birthday/anniversary fines...the dues may be paid in two parts, July/august 2020, and January 2021...the birthday/anniversary fines are due in the month that each occurs...each member will be receiving an updated statement to follow their payment progress...questions: contact President Pamela at pamelayaz@gmail.com or Treasurer Ed at ed@mcsweeneyandassociates.com.

A super thanks to all our wonderful Penn Valley Rotary Club members for making this a fun and creative Rotary Year...below are some pictures of our adventures, many of them new and all very successful...appreciation gifts were distributed to those who attended the Demotion Dinner on Friday evening (thanks for suffering through the heat!)  And for those who did not attend, I will connect to deliver them to you as well...Thank you again for your dedication to your Club and your community...looking forward to a year of opening new opportunities for us to service as People of Action!!
