Last Week's meeting....Our very own Rick Nolle was a wealth of knowledge about the current real estate market, what are the trends, what is the forecast. Currently, the market is very good for sellers, with a good to fair market for buyers...many buyers are coming from more populated areas due to the increase of people working from home... 
 
 
Next meeting...September 15 Zoom meeting at Noon - Nevada County Consolidated Fire Marshall, Terry McMahan, will discuss the Jones Fire and other issues as we approach the heart of the fire season..PV Rotary Board meeting - Sept 8..message Prez Pamela if you are not on board but would like to attend...

 PREZ PAMELA'S PROSE...September is Basic Education and Literacy month...how ironic since many of our schools are not open in the usual manner...we're learning to live in a different model with different tools and formats.....
Our Penn Valley Rotary Club has been working a lot on Literacy this last year with installations of Free Little Libraries..at Western Gateway, and in front of our two community schools: Williams Ranch and now Ready Springs...Special thanks to Greg Marshall and Gordon B who helped with the installation at Ready Springs...
 
Something new!!! Paula Collins and Prez Pamela are starting a "Read to the Class" program with Williams Ranch school, via zoom..Anyone who wants to help read once a week to students for approximately 1/2 hour, connect with Paul Collins at 273-7461, Should be FUN (remember our 5th Rotary Rule!!)... that's it for now...Stay safe, healthy and PURPLE!!
 
 
Date change....Golf for Kids, October 4 ...our golf teams will be raising money for our Ready Springs Garden project, books for the school libraries, Ready Springs Interact club murals and helping students in any way we can...connect with Dan Halloran (danhalloran39@gmail.com) or Gene Vander Plaats (genovp@msn.com)  to sign up...
 
Wanna help with Meals on Wheels special program? ...help deliver monthly Senior Grocery bags ( connect with Past Prez Lindy to help...lindybeatie@gmail.com)

 Senior Grocery Bag (monthly)

§  No requirement for the bags, other than 60 years of age or older...if you know someone, let's get them signed up!!!

And with emergency food distribution on September 16, here's the scoop on this project:

Emergency meals (September 16) will be distributed/deliver to seniors
  • Volunteer help deliver these
  • If you know seniors that could use emergency (shelf stable food) we can set aside some food boxes for you to distribute in your area
    • Requirement: 60 years or older and contact info (Name, Address, Phone, Date of Birth)

District Governor Roberta "Berta" Pickett  is collecting dollars for Polio Plus...If you'd like a "Caps for Curtailing Polio", send a check made out to Penn Valley Rotary club for $20, mail to: PO Box 120 Penn Valley, CA  95946, no later than September 15 and we'll send in the order as a club...
