Joanie Bumpus has a job for us!! We will be painting the teachers' room and Williams Ranch School Thursday, June 13, 8am - noon. Give Joanie a call for more information on other needed equipment and materials, 530-460-1805.
Penn Valley Area Chamber Mixer Invitation
Club Member Mike Mastrodonato invites us all to attend the Penn Valley Area Chamber Mixer, Thursday, June 13, 5:30-7:30 at Penn Valley Mini Storage. New York themed music and food, raffles and fun for all. All Rotarians are welcome to attend!
Tuesday, June 4th meeting photos:
Gene Gilligan, Joanie Bumpus Daffodil Run committee, visited the club and gave us a check for support of our continued service in Penn Valley.
Our speaker, Bill Boon, gave us information about the Achievement Beyond Obstacles (ABO) program for high school students.
Club Fundraiser: Disc and Dine : August 27 at Western Gateway Park, 5 pm Disc clinic, 6 pm BBQ dinner. $25 per person, $15 for children under 10..all invited...visit to RSVP and details. All club members are to sell four tickets each - fundraiser for our community service projects. Tickets will be available June 18.
Demotion Dinner Plans
Past President Mike Dobbins is organizing an evening event for Mark's demotion. Tuesday, June 25 at Western Gateway Park is our date and place - DeeDee Vierra will be cooking chicken for us and club members will bring the side dishes and desserts. Mike will have sign up sheets and cost for us this week.  Put the date on your calendar - we will be dark for the lunch time but celebrating Mark and his year as our President plus bring on the new president, Lindy Beatie.

Looking for a way to volunteer in the community? Here are some opportunities we have heard about at our club meetings. And don't forget to wear your Rotary shirt vest, or pin while giving service to the community.

New opportunities:
The Nevada County Airfest is looking for ticket takers to staff the gates, on July 20 in two to three hour shifts from 8am to 4 pm.  If you are available, email  
County Fair Support for Nevada City Rotary is looking to fill a few shifts at the Nevada County Fair, August 7-11. Check out their website at for an updated schedule.
