Welcome to another issue of our weekly bulletin! Find out who our upcoming speakers are, what we covered during the last weekly meeting, and learn more about our Member of the Week.
This Week's Speaker
This week we welcome our guest speaker - Irene Perbal. Ms. Perbal was born in Indonesia, living in Holland from 1935 - 1945, including five years in Amsterdam during Nazi occupation. She moved to Congo, then to Brazil for 37 years. Ms. Perbal founded a cultural institute to improve the relations between Brazil and the Netherlands. She moved to California in 1998 where she developed an interest for solar cooking, teaching solar cooking lessons in needy areas of Brazil.
Ms. Perbal is a member of Rotary Club of Jackson near where she lives, and is now giving talks about life under Nazi occupation in Amsterdam. She enjoys meeting people through Rotary.

Disc and Dine will be held Tuesday, August 27 - Clinic starting at 5pm, Chicken BBQ at 6pm at Western Gateway Park, shelters one and two. This is an "all hands on deck" activity to make this fundraiser a success. You should have received the four tickets you need to sell for the event. Tickets may also be purchased from Penn Valley Rotary website.
