Virginia Gompertz, NC Coalition of Fire Wise Communities spoke about how to access information on the web as you prepare for fire season....receiving emergency alerts, how to find your evacuation zone number, signing up for Cal Fire Texts...also information on local media during an emergency...it was very informative...she also talked about the difference between FireWise communities and the Fire Safe Council and how to start a FireWise community if you are not a part of one in your area.
