Planning on going back to Players...We will be returning to in-person meetings starting July 6!!..Meetings will be the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, both lunch meetings, with a social planned for the 5th Tuesday of each quarter.. Full lunches will be $15, with salad and drinks only, $7...Tina Harland will share how they opened a business during the pandemic for our first
meeting on July 6... Update on High Schools in Nevada County... Brett McFadden's presentation on the future of Career Technical and Ag programs at the High Schools was very enlightening. He and Scholarship coordinator Linda Melugin explained the wonderful opportunity the Ranch Project will afford our High School students from throughout the district with information on careers in the building and construction trades, manufacturing, and the arts plus enhance science and mathematics curricula. The Penn Valley Rotary board approved $500 for the project which will be matched by Rotary District grant funds. Both Superintendent McFadden (49er Breakfast) and Linda Melugin (Grass Valley South) are Rotarians in our area. Read about this wonderful project via this link Bailey Scholarship recipients... Special thanks to Bruce Golder, Mark Bailey and Nicole Van Vacas Gagnon for helping select the Larry Bailey scholarship recipient for this year...And a special thanks to Bruce and Darleen for donating an additional amount to allow our club to award all finalists with funds to further their education...the primary recipient is Katia Griffin, who is awarded a $1000 scholarship. Other applicants that were awarded funds include: Emily Bedell, Erika Jung, and Allison Johnson. Below is a thank you note from Katia.
