President’s Message

Hi Everyone,

Thank you Mike Mastrodonato, Gordon Beatie, and Hank Weston for the history and update of the Penn Valley Municipal Advisory Council. Given what activities are going on with proposed Penn Valley commercial developments, the start of an update to Penn Valley’s General Plan, and the start of an update to the Nevada County General Plan’s Housing Element, their presentation was very timely and informative.

Next week, our guest speakers will be 2018 REGL students.  Having these students share their experiences at REGL and what is meant to their lives is always enjoyable to hear.  Our foundation contributions do have an impact on our local community and in student’s lives.  What privilege we have through our PV Rotary Club to provide the REGL scholarships that make such a difference in lives in Penn Valley and beyond.

Thank you to those who helped collect WOW points at Holiday Market on 17 November for our Christmas season food baskets for food challenged students in our Penn Valley community schools, William Ranch Elementary and Ready Springs Schools.  We have another Holiday Market WOW points drive on 8 December.  If you have not yet signed up to help, there are slots open.  You can contact Joanie Bumpus to fill a 2-hour time slot on the 8th.  Your service will be well appreciated by the children and families who receive our Food Baskets at Christmas time.

Wow! December is upon us and it’s time to get ready for the Christmas season. Parties are starting, gifts are being bought, and it appears Christmas weather (usually bad weather and snow) is upon us.  Don’t forget our PV Rotary Club Christmas Party 11 December starting at 5:50 at Betty’s house. See Mark Fleming is you have not yet signed up.  You don’t want to miss this social time with fellow Rotarians.

I am looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday, 4 December 2018.
