January Rotary Theme: Vocational Services Month...support our local businesses whenever you can!!!
 
Happy NEW YEAR 2021!!! 
 
This Tuesday,  January 5 at 5pm...Local Author Chris Enss will chat about her array of historical novels mostly about women. Enss has written more than 20 books on the subject of women in the Old West, and collaborated with producer Howard Kazanjian on four books, including two about Roy Rogers and Dale Evans..watch for zoom link on Tuesday morning....

President Pamela will also be asking for your New Year's resolution, so be creative...LOL!!!
 
On January 19, at our noon zoom meeting, we will hear from David West, Nevada County's Veteran's Services Officer. 
 
Penn Valley Rotary Club Board meeting: January 12 at noon...
 
February 16 @ noon meeting...Bill Tobin of the Rotary club of El Dorado Hills, will be talking about Shelter Box, a collaborative program with Rotary International that provides shelter during disasters around the world, as well as here in the US. 
 
 
SPECIAL SPEAKER EVENT!!...Rotary International President Nominee, Jennifer Jones, the first women to become Rotary International's president, will be speaking to our district on February 13 at 9 am...please mark you calendar...Information on links to follow...
 
 
PREZ PAMELA'S PROSE...
 
This coming Saturday, January 9...Christmas tree recycling...Lake Wildwood (only) Christmas Tree recycling will take place  from 7:45 am to approximately noon...Special thanks to the following for working on this project: Mark Bailey, Mark Fleming, Gordon and Ryan Beatie, Gene Vander Plaats, Jim Sears (local yard  maintenance provider) and the students of Nevada Union Interact and the Weeblos of Cub Pack 275.  We could still use a few more volunteers to help, so connect with Greg Marshal OR Lindy B if you'd like to help...Thanks to Greg, for organizing this fun event....gsmarshall67@aol.com...

***Dan Halloran still has not reported on his housing situation...send him a quick note if you can ...Also a quick note to Bob Kline would be welcome...everyone is in transition...
 
***We said "good bye" to two members this month: David Favre and Anna Dillavou...we wish them blessing in the new year and hope they will be back with us soon... 
 
*** If you know of a high school student who would like to participate in either the area Speech or Music contest, send a note to Lindy B...deadlines are approaching fast...

 
 
NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO INVITE A FRIEND TO JOIN OUR ROTARY CLUB...Dues for the second half of the year are only $75 for January 2021- June 2021....Invite them to a zoom meeting (it only takes attending two meetings to begin the membership process)...we've got some great projects going and welcome new ideas and fresh faces...
