President’s Message

Hi Everyone,

Well, for those who missed Science Night at the Williams Ranch School, you missed a great night of watching kids experience hands-on interactive science.  Sixteen Rotarians (as best as my memory serves me) helped out with the experiments.  What a way to support youth and education!

Last Tuesday’s speaker Gordon Mangel provided a brief description of the Nevada County Grand Jury and a bit of how they operate and a bit on the applicant process for the next 2019-2020 Grand Jury.  One bit of information I got out of the presentation is that the Grand Jury is not for criminal investigations, in that criminal cases are outside of the Grand Jury’s workscope. The NC Grand Jury is primarily a government watch dog spurred on by citizen complaints.

An open house and ceremony sponsored by the Penn Valley Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the Penn Valley Union School District’s new downtown Penn Valley Administration Office was held last Thursday.  It was a nice time and the new offices are well located for the District.

A Paul Harris Fellow +1 was presented to Lindy Beatie at our last luncheon. Congratulations Lindy!!!!!!!

What a pleasure seeing Bob Kline at our last luncheon.

Save Saturday, 27 April 2019, for a Rotary Work Day project.  Projects are being investigated for this 2019 Rotarians at Work Day.

See you on Tuesday, Player’s Pizza, at noon.
