It was very fulfilling for her in her journey through leadership, she explained, as she currently holds a leadership role with the NU Band. The RYLA experience helped to give her different perspectives of her leadership skills and those of others on her team... ***This week we will be inducting 2 new members: Melissa Conley, the new Superintendent of the Penn Valley Elementary School District and Ken Holbrook, a transfer from Grass Valley Rotary club... ALSO AT THIS WEEK'S MEETING - AUGUST 17...we are having our Club Assembly...Club Assembly is an opportunity for club members to discuss this year's goals, community projects/club social events, fundraisers and for officers to update club members on the budget and Penn Valley Rotary Club Foundation (different from the Rotary International Foundation)....come with ideas and enthusiasm...check out the club website: www.pennvalleyrotary.org for a list of meeting speakers through December!! Social for August is the Area 4 social on August 28...Those of you who have signed up, remember to bring your $10 for this event...It will be held at Condon Park in Grass Valley...directions available UPDATE ON CLUB ACTIVITIES: Our club's golf tourney will be held on October 3 at Lake Wildwood...it's an opportunity for fellowship and fundraising! Golfers get pledges from their friends and co workers...Gene Vander Plaats and Michael Fairbrother are spearheading this event...sign up and join in the fun!!
